The Forest Therapy Practitioner Training Tutors

Lucy Duggan

I am a Wellcome Trust Fellow and have been co-director at Light Box since 2010.

In 2018, a Churchill Fellowship supported by the Mental Health Foundation enabled me to undertake an international research project that explored eco-therapeutic approaches to community mental-health promotion and prevention. This research took me to Japan and The States and gave me a chance to learn directly from leaders in the forest therapy field such as Qing Li and Amos Clifford.

I am currently undertaking research into nature-based interventions to promote postnatal mental health, published in the British Medical Journal.

I created the Light Box Forest Therapy Practitioner certification training programme to enable more people to gain the knowledge and skills to help others connect with nature, and enjoy the multiple health benefits this brings.
