How do I get there?

Address:

The Green Barn, Leigh Woods.

What3Words Location: name.roof.comical

Bus Instructions/Directions:

Accessible by bus: take the X4 'Bristol - Portishead' bus from Bristol Bus Station.

  1. You’ll pass an entrance to Ashton Court, 1 kilometre later, when you get to the traffic lights which signpost to Clevedon on the left, request the bus to stop at the next stop, by ringing the bell.

  2. You’ll get off at the next stop. (which is called ‘The Gateway’). NB. The stop is 3 stops after the Uwe Bower Ashton city campus stop.

  3. It’s about 900 metres - around a 10-15 minute walk from here. Keep heading in the direction of the bus and cross the road once you get to the Clifton College Sports Ground.

  4. You will pass a large stone archway and just beyond, you will find the entrance to the woods - look out for the Forestry England sign.

  5. Walk all the way to the very end of the long driveway/lane until you get to where the carpark widens out.

  6. Look out for the large wooden signs - there will be a signpost for the Human Nature Project indicating the path.

  7. Go down the path for 200 metres

  8. When you get to a ‘crossroads’ in the path, which is marked by a wooden post, turn left and that track will take you to the Green Barn (100 metres).

Driving / Cycling / Walking directions:

  1. Turn off the A369 / Abbots Leigh Road when you see the Forestry England sign for Leigh Woods. It’s opposite the Clifton College spots ground.

  2. Drive all the way to the very end of the long driveway/lane until you get to where the carpark widens out.

  3. Look out for the large wooden signs - there will be a signpost for the Human Nature Project indicating the path.

  5. When you get to a ‘crossroads’ in the path, which is market by a wooden post, turn left and that track will take you to the Green Barn (100 metres).

IMPORTANT - Please don’t try to enter Leigh Woods via the North Road Entrance. You’re entering the woods from the wrong side - it’s a long walk from this entrance and impossible to direct! You are likely to get lost finding the Green Barn this way. Only enter from the Forestry England carpark and be sure to follow our directions.

Do I have to pay for parking?

Yes. Please make sure that you do buy a £4 parking ticket that covers the full time you will be in the woods. NB. The ticket machines do not take cash so do bring a card. Unfortunately number plate recognition is now active in the carpark and fines are sent out to those who overstayed or were un-ticketed. If the ticket machine is not working, we recommend that you take a film of the machine to enable you to appeal any fine that you incur.

Will a taxi take me all the way to the green barn?

Taxis should take you all the way to where the path into the woods begins - ask your driver to drive all the way to the very end of the long driveway/lane until you get to where the carpark widens out.

How do I get there if I don’t have a car?

Please see the above question “How do I get to Leigh Woods? And how do I find you in Leigh Woods?” which describes the bus route and directions. Leigh woods is accessible by bike and taxi also.

No, they work on a standalone basis, but you are welcome to complete all 7 sessions.

Do you have a waiting list for fully booked sessions?

No, we do not operate a waiting list if the session you want to book onto is fully booked. Our booking system auto-sends a reminder email to all participants of a session 24 hours in advance of it. What are the different sessions about?

Each of the sessions has a discussion component that takes place after the forest therapy where one of the following themes will be explored:
