We got the funding!
We wanted to share with you some very exciting news… Light Box has been awarded a charitable grant from The Big Lottery Fund’s ‘Reaching Communities’ award for £200,000.
We are thrilled! This grant will supply three years worth of core funding, allowing us to provide regular and free general public workshops and allows us to continue the courses for referred participants from partnership organisations… and much more! It also means that the core staff now will be paid and there will be more opportunity for volunteer engagement.
Getting this project off the ground has been such an exciting challenge and a real pleasure for all of us. We are proud to have really proved our worth with our extensive project evaluation. A couple of stats for you:
- 95% of respondents who took part in workshops found useful or very useful
- 92% planned to take action as a result of coming
- When we re-visited out our case studies one year on, we found 91% reported that they are still applying things the learned in the workshops to their daily lives.
We are so grateful that we can now re-open our shop this Autumn, continuing as a free service for all, unlocking people’s creative potential to be happy.
We hope to see you in a workshop. They are due to begin on October 1st 2012. We are still in the planning stages, but timetables will go out to all subscribers of our mailing list when they are available.
We have here a link to a downloadable word document of our press release.
Thank you, as always, for your support and encouragement.
